Project N. 2/49   India, 2016

Sujatha Susairaj

An individual project supported by the Foundation

Sujatha has two teenage children, one with a disability. They are studying in middle school and college. Until recently, Sujatha devoted herself entirely to the well-being of her family by almost single-handedly raising her children.

In recent years, the Foundation helped Sujataha to take charge of herself and her family in a more effective way. As a result, in 2016, she wished to contribute to the economy of her family by starting her own resource-generating activity. To achieve this, the Foundation provided her with a professional scholarship with the help of which she successfully followed a sewing training.

At the end of the course, Sujatha started her own sewing workshop. Her small boutique, "Maria Sarees and Design Tailoring", is located in Mylapore, a picturesque commercial district in Chennai.
